XXXVIII Tavola Rotonda sui problemi attuali del Diritto Internazionale Umanitario
L’Istituto Internazionale di Diritto Umanitario – con il patrocinio del Ministero Italiano della Difesa e il Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale – organizza una Tavola Rotonda sul tema “La Distinzione tra i Conflitti Armati Internazionali e i Conflitti Armati Non-Internazionali: Sfide per il DIU (Diritto Internazionale Umanitario)?”
La Tavola Rotonda, che avrà luogo a Sanremo dal 3 al 5 settembre, con la partecipazione di funzionari governativi, di esperti internazionali e di rappresentanti di organizzazioni internazionali provenienti dalle diverse regioni del mondo, affronterà la complessa questione della distinzione tra conflitti armati internazionali e non-internazionali: in quali condizioni e in che misura i trattati internazionali e le norme consuetudinarie sono applicabili ai conflitti armati non-internazionali? Dovrebbe esserci una convergenza anche per l’applicazione di tali norme nei conflitti di carattere internazionale? Attenzione particolare sarà altresì data ai conflitti attualmente in corso in Siria, Iraq e Yemen.
La Tavola Rotonda sarà aperta ufficialmente dai rappresentanti del Ministero Italiano degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale, della NATO e del Comitato Internazionale della Croce-Rossa (CICR) di Ginevra.

Sanremo: Round Table on International Law
XXXVIII Round Table on the present International Humanitarian Law matters
The International Institute of Humanitarian Law, under the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Defence and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation – is organising a Round Table entitled “The Distinction between International and Non-International Armed Conflicts: Challenges for IHL (International Humanitarian Law)?”
The Round Table, which will be held in Sanremo from the 3rd to the 5th September, with the participation of governmental officials, international experts and international organisation representatives from all over the world, will focus on the complex issue based on the difference between the international and non-international armed conflicts: but to what extent and under what conditions are treaties and customary law applicable to non-international armed conflicts? Should it be a concurrence in the application of those rules in case of international conflicts? A special attention will begiven to the current conflicts in Syria, Iraq e Yemen.
The Round Table will be officially opened by some representatives of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, together with some NATO members and partners of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) based in Geneva.
